Marion engineers work closely with the other Bradbury Group companies and their customers to design the tools that turn concepts into finished products.
SUMMARY Operate a variety of machinery and equipment to process work pieces to print or job order specifications.
LOCATION Marion, KS HOURS 7:
00 am - 3:
30 pm M-F ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Studies prints and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, and depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations.
Lay out dimensions on parts per prints.
Setup and operate machinery to cut shape or form metal to specifications.
Ensure conformity of finished work.
May be required to learn and operate drills, grinders, mills, lathes, forklifts, overhead hoists, and other equipment as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED/PREFERRED Able to use and understand all required tools and precision measuring instruments.
Knowledge of CNC programming.
Understands basic math concepts.
Ability to read and understand prints/bill of materials and follow oral and written instructions.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Requires standing, bending, twisting, walking and lifting up to 50 lbs.
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED/PREFERRED Prefer successful completion of related course work at a trade or technical school.
High school degree or equivalent.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES Must supply own hand tools.
Requires a strong, related work history.
Ability to change assignments frequently.
Can work well independently and with others.
Observes safety and security procedures by using equipment and materials properly.
Is consistently at work and on time, ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.
Follows instructions, responds to management direction.
Takes responsibility for own actions.
Commits to extra hours of work when necessary to reach goals.
Completes tasks on time.
